Editorial Policy

This page explains how games are selected, organized and described on PiikoPlay, so you know what you can expect from our content.

How games are selected

Before a game is published on PiikoPlay we check that:

  • it loads and runs correctly in a modern web browser, and whether it works on mobile devices;
  • it is suitable for a general audience — we do not publish games with explicit sexual content, extreme violence or content that promotes hate or illegal activities;
  • it is offered for embedding by its developer or by a game distribution platform, so that it can legally appear on websites like ours;
  • it adds something to our catalog, rather than being a near-identical copy of a game we already have.

Games that stop working, are withdrawn by their provider or no longer meet these standards are removed or replaced.

How categories are organized

Each game is placed in the category that best describes how it plays — for example Racing, Puzzle or Sports — and may appear in a second category when it clearly fits both. We only show categories that contain games, and category pages include a short introduction to help you choose. You can browse all of them on the Game Categories page.

How descriptions are written

Game information is based on the details supplied by the game’s developer or distributor, such as its description and controls. We review it, correct obvious errors and rewrite or add text where it helps players — for example a clear “How to play” section, the controls in an easy-to-read format and the main features of the game. We aim to describe games accurately and do not publish fake reviews, invented ratings or exaggerated claims. Ratings shown on game pages come from votes by our visitors.

Accuracy, corrections and updates

We want our information to be correct. Games are updated by their developers, so a description may occasionally become outdated. If you spot an error — wrong controls, a broken game or a misleading description — please contact us. We review reports and correct or update the page, usually within a few days.

Respect for copyright

We only publish games that are made available for embedding by their owners or distributors, credit developers or sources when this information is available, and do not claim ownership of third-party games. Rights holders can use our DMCA & Copyright Policy to request corrections or removal.

Advertising and independence

PiikoPlay may display advertising to fund the website. Advertising does not influence which games we publish or how we describe them, and ads are kept clearly separate from game content and game controls. Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be clearly labelled.
