What are cookies?

Similar technologies include local storage, which stores information in your browser, and pixels or scripts used to measure visits. In this policy, “cookies” refers to all of these.
Cookies set by PiikoPlay are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other companies — for example analytics providers, advertising partners or game providers — are third-party cookies.
Types of cookies we use
Necessary cookies
These are required for the website to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are used, for example, to keep you logged in if you have an account, to protect forms against spam and abuse, to remember your cookie choices and to deliver pages quickly and reliably. You can block them in your browser, but some parts of the website may then not work.
Preference and functional storage
PiikoPlay stores some information in your browser’s local storage so the website works the way you like: your dark or light display mode, your favorite games when you are not logged in and your list of recently played games. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to count visits and understand how the website is used, such as which pages are visited most and how long pages take to load. This helps us improve PiikoPlay. Where the law requires it, analytics cookies are only used after you consent.
Advertising cookies
When advertising is shown on PiikoPlay, advertising partners such as Google AdSense may use cookies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance and, with your consent where required, show ads based on your interests. Third-party cookies from games and embedded content
Games on PiikoPlay are loaded from the servers of their developers or distributors. These providers may set their own cookies or use local storage — for example to save your game progress, measure gameplay or show advertising inside the game. Social media feeds, videos and other embedded content can also set cookies. We do not control these cookies; please check the privacy and cookie policies of the respective providers.

If you visit PiikoPlay from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before using cookies that are not strictly necessary. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the privacy or cookie settings link provided on the website, where available.
How to manage cookies in your browser

On mobile devices, look in your browser’s settings under Privacy. Clearing site data for PiikoPlay also removes your locally saved favorites and recently played list.
